A healthy and delicious steamed snack, quite similar to the famous Gujarati Muthias. Made of wholesome whole wheat flour and protein-rich besan, these Palak Methi Dumplings combine a generous amount of nutritious spinach and fenugreek leaves too. Mildly-spiced yet aromatic and flavorful, these dumplings will be loved by young and old alike, and hence a brilliant means of including greens in your diet.

Shredded spinach 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Chopped fenugreek leaves 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Asafoetida 1 Pinch
Salt To Taste
Besan 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (Bengal gram flour)
Whole wheat flour 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Sugar 1 Teaspoon
Ginger green chili paste 1 Tablespoon
Oil 1 Tablespoon
Soda bi carb 2 Pinch
Oil 1 Teaspoon (For greasing)

1. Grease a sieve and set aside.

2. In a bowl, combine shredded spinach, fenugreek leaves, asafoetida, salt, besan, whole wheat flour, sugar, ginger green chili paste, oil, and soda-bi-carb. Using little water (approx 3 tablespoon) knead the mixture into very soft dough.

3. Divide the mixture into 14 equal portions and roll each portion into a round dumpling.

4. Arrange dumplings (steam in batches) on a greased sieve and steam in a steamer for 5-6 minutes.

5. Serve immediately with green chutney.
