Delicious Rich Chocolate Barfi

Chocolate barfi is a rich barfi made with cocoa and maida, milk and milk powder. Cocoa adds a wonderful chocolaty flavor to the barfi, because of which kids thoroughly enjoy it. Diwali is one such occasion when any kind of a sweet is to be totally enjoyed without having to care about the calories and since it is quite easy to prepare, most mothers get down to making it for the kids.


All purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Ghee 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Milk powder 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Cocoa powder 4 Teaspoon
Chopped cashew nuts 2 Teaspoon
Pistachios, raisins, almonds 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)



1. Heat the kadai and add all the ingredients (maida, milk, milk powder, cocoa, sugar and ghee). Stir continuously for at least 20 minutes, till the contents leave the sides of the kadai.

2. Cook till the mixture forms a thick mould and starts to emanate a nice aroma. Add the chopped nuts and raisin and mix well.

3. Transfer the mould into a greased plate and press it down to a thickness of 1 inch. Store them in an airtight container.


4. Serve the barfi as a dessert.
