Deep fried Indian snack which you can enjoy with hot tea or coffee.
Water | 1 Liter | |
Clarified butter | 1 1/2 Teaspoon (Ghee) | |
Sugar | 200 Gram | |
Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Cinnamon powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Semolina | 1/2 Kilogram (Suji) | |
Vegetable oil | 1 Liter (For deep frying) |
MAKING
1. In a pan pour water and bring it to a boil.
2. Add ghee (clarified butter), sugar, salt, and cinnamon powder.
3. Reduce the flame and add semolina slowly while stirring continuously. Cook till it absorbs the water completely. Transfer it to a bowl and let it cool.
4. Once it cools knead it properly to make smooth dough (to the consistency of flour).
5. Put a little bit of ghee on your palm and fingers. Make small balls with the dough. Flatten the semolina balls with your fingers.
FINALIZING
6. In a pan heat the oil for deep frying. Once the oil is hot add the semolina balls and fry till golden brown.
SERVING
7. Serve hot.
