Simple and easy Indian dessert made with bread, sugar, and milk.

MAKING
1. In a pan add sugar and water. Cook till the sugar is dissolved and falls like a string from the spoon. Remove the pan from heat and let the syrup cool.
2. In another pan add the ghee or clarified butter. Cut each slice of bread into 2 triangles. Add the bread triangles to the hot ghee and fry them till the slices are crisp.
3. Switch the pans and put the sugar syrup back on the heat. Add the fried bread slices to the syrup. Flip the sides till the bread soaks the sugar syrup and becomes soft.
4. Turn off the flame and add rose (kewra) water to the pan. Take the slices of bread out on a plate.
SERVING
5. Garnish it with rabri (reduced milk), roasted cashew nuts, pistachios, and silver warq (edible silver leaf). Serve hot.
TIPS
You can make rabri by boiling the milk (1 L) on a medium flame and reducing it to 100ml.
