This simple and easy vermicelli pudding can be quickly prepared with simple pantry ingredients and served as dessert when sudden guests stop by for lunch or dinner.
Vermicelli | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (Semiya) | |
Clarified butter | 3 Teaspoon , divided | |
Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Sugar | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Chopped cashew nuts | 1 Tablespoon | |
Almonds | 1 Tablespoon , peeled, chopped | |
Raisins | 2 Tablespoon | |
Saffron | 1/2 Gram | |
Water | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) |
GETTING READY
1. In a bowl add milk and dissolve saffron in it.
MAKING
2. In a pan add clarified butter (1½ tsp) and fry the vermicelli till it turns light brown.
3. In the meanwhile, boil the water. Add the vermicelli to the boiling water and cover it. Keep stirring occasionally.
4. Once the vermicelli becomes soft, add the sugar and continue to stir.
5. Add raisins and milk dissolved with saffron into the pan with vermicelli. Mix it together and let it boil.
6. In another pan add clarified butter (1½ tsp), cashew nuts, and almonds. Cook on high flame till they are golden brown.
7. Once the nuts become brown, add them to the vermicelli pudding and bring it to a boil.
SERVING
8. Served hot or cold.
