Red Masala Lamb Curry

Using Red Masala paste I've made a delicious Red Masala Lamb curry. You can also use mutton or beef.

Ingredients

Lamb shoulder 2 Pound , cubed (can use mutton or beef)
Red onion 1 , chopped finely
Masala paste 3 Tablespoon (red masala paste)
Coriander powder 2 Tablespoon
Cumin seeds 1 Tablespoon
Ground pepper 1 Teaspoon
Ginger paste 2 Tablespoon
Garlic paste 2 Tablespoon
Tomaotes 2 , chopped finely
Potato 1 , peeled, cut into 1/2 inch cube
Salt To Taste
Oil 2 Tablespoon , divided

Directions

MAKING

1. In a pan heat 1 1/2 tablespoon of oil on medium heat. Add the onions and sauté for a few minutes or till they are soft and translucent. Add the red masala paste , coriander powder, cumin, pepper, ginger and garlic paste. Saute for a few minutes or till the raw smell disappears.

2. Add the lamb pieces and stir well to coat all with the spice mixture. Add the tomatoes and salt to taste. Stir well to mix, cover with a lid and cook for around 40 minutes while stirring occasionally to avoid burning at the bottom. Check once in a while for moisture. If too dry add little water.

3. In another pan heat ½ tablespoon of oil. Add the potato cubes and fry them till they are 3/4th done. Remove into a bowl.

4. After around 40 minutes of cooking or once the lamb is done, add the fried potatoes and cover with the lid and continue to cook for another 2 minutes or till the potatoes are done.

SERVING

5. In a serving plate serve the lamb with rotis or rice.
