Ragi Porridge - Healthy Breakfast in 5 Minutes

Ragi is pearl millet or also called as african millet flour which is really healthy for all of us. Having some kind of whole grain food in every meal is a must to maintain good health. Some times healthy foods wouldnt be tasty but this recipe is a simple, healthy yet delicious


Ragi flour 3 Tablespoon
Jaggery 1 Tablespoon
Cardamom pods 1 Small , crushed
Honey 1 Tablespoon
Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Cashew nuts 4 Small , chopped (into bite size pieces)



1. In a saucepan add the flour and dry roast it over low to medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes. Once done remove and set aside.

2. In the same pan add water and cashew nuts let the mixture warm up.

3. Crush the cardamom seeds in a pestle, set aside.

4. Add the ragi flour while stirring constantly to avoid any lumps. Cook until it comes to a rapid boil.

5. Add milk and keep stirring until well combined, cook for 2-3 minutes and add sugar or jaggary. Bring it to a boil and add the cardamom powder.

6. Turn off the heat and transfer in a serving bowl and drizzle honey on top.


7. Serve the Ragi Porridge hot.
