Kanda vepudu

Yam fry is similar to other root vegetable fry and can be eaten just like potato fries because of its crispiness. However, it is also eaten with rotis. If eaten as a snack, it tastes good with tomato ketchup. Check out the recipe for its preparation.

Yam 1/4 Kilogram , slice into 0.5 cm thick and 1 inch length pieces
Red chili powder 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Coriander powder 1 Teaspoon
Vegetable oil 200 Milliliter (For deep frying)
Citric acid 1/8 Teaspoon (Leveled)

1. Heat the oil on medium flame till it becomes hot (Drop a piece of yam in the oil to check if its ready. If the piece sizzles and floats on top, the oil is ready).

2. Fry all the yam pieces in batches till all of them are done and fried crispy.

3. Place all the fried pieces in the bowl. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and coriander powder along with citric acid granules to the fried yam and mix well. Ensure all the pieces are coated. Adjust salt if needed.

4. Serve the fries with tomato ketchup if eaten as a snack else serve with roti.
