Aloo Soya Ki Sabzi (Potato and Nutrella Gravy)

Soya chunks are rich is protein. This is an easy curry to make for lunch or dinner, when you want a hot and spicy main dish to serve along with chapatti or rice.


Oil 2 Tablespoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Ginger and garlic paste 2 Teaspoon
Onion 1 Small , finely chopped
Tomato 1 , pureed
Turmeric powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Red chili powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Garam masala 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Soya chunks 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Boiled potatoes 2 Medium , cubed
Warm water 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)



1. In a medium bowl, pour in water and microwave for 1 minute.

2. Soak the soya chunks in the hot water for 10 minutes.


3. In a skillet, heat oil, add cumin and allow it to splutter.

4. Add in the ginger and garlic paste and fry for 1 minute. Followed by the onions and sauté until translucent.

5. Stir in the tomatoes and season with turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala and salt , mix well. Cook until tomatoes are tender.

6. Squeeze out the water from soaked soya chunks by pressing it between your hands very lightly.

7. Add in the soya and potatoes to the tomato mixture and mix well. Pour in the warm water and simmer for 5 minutes on low heat.


8. Serve aloo soya with steamed rice or chapatti.
