Homemade Potato Garlic Paratha

Paratha or flatbread is popular especially in the Northern part of India. You can serve it plain or with different kind of stuffing. Here is an easy flavorful version for all the foodies.

Ingredients

For dough
Wheat flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Turmeric powder 1 Pinch
Red chili powder 1 Pinch
Salt To Taste
Warm water 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (use as needed to knead)
For stuffing
Boiled potato 2
Chopped green chili 1 Teaspoon (more or less to taste)
Red chili powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/8 Teaspoon
Grated ginger 1/2 Teaspoon
Chopped coriander leaves 1 Tablespoon
Lemon juice 1 1/2 Teaspoon
Minced garlic 1 Tablespoon (or to taste)
Sauf 1 Teaspoon
For cooking paratha
Ghee/Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon

Directions

GETTING READY

For Dough:

1. In a bowl, combine wheat flour, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt.

2. Pour water, a little at a time and knead into dough.

MAKING

For Stuffing:

3. In a bowl, mash potato and then add chopped chili, red chili powder, turmeric powder, grated ginger, coriander leaves, salt, lemon juice, minced garlic, and sauf. Mix well.

For Paratha:

4. Divide dough into medium sized balls. Roll a ball of dough into small disc and place stuffing in the centre. Fold to cover.

5. Gently roll it flat and cook on hot tawa using ghee/oil until golden brown on both sides. Repeat the process for more paratha.

SERVING

7. Serve hot with raita and salad.
