Sattu ka Paratha

Sattu (roasted gram flour) is the main ingredient used in Sattu ka paratha, which is often served with baingan ka bharta. This is a filling and tasty breakfast in winters.

Ingredients

Roasted gram flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Onion 2 Tablespoon , finely chopped
Coriander leaves 2 Tablespoon , finely chopped
Ginger 1 Teaspoon , grated
Garlic 1 Teaspoon , minced
Green chilies 2 Teaspoon , finely chopped
Carom seeds 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Fresh lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
Mustard oil 1 Tablespoon
Water 2 Tablespoon
For dough
Whole wheat flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Water 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Other ingredients
Oil 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Whole wheat flour 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (dusting)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. For the Dough – In a large bowl, combine together whole wheat flour and water. Knead into semi-stiff dough. Set aside.

2. For the stuffing – in a medium bowl, mix together all the ingredients and set aside.

MAKING

3. Divide the dough and stuffing into 8 equal portions.

4. Dust the portion of the dough with flour and roll into a circle of 3 inch circle.

5. Place a portion of stuffing in the centre of the circle. Bring together all the sides in the centre and seal tightly. Roll again into a circle of 6 inch circle with a little flour.

6. Heat a non-stick pan and cook the paratha using a little oil until golden brown spots appear on both the sides. Repeat the process with rest of the ingredients.
