North Indian - Dry Matar Paneer

This North Indian dish made with peas and cottage cheese is among one of the easiest thing which you can make in 15 minutes. Try this in your home and you've got a sure crowd pleaser!


Mustard oil 1 Tablespoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Onion 1 Small , finely chopped
Tomatoes 2 Small , finely chopped
Frozen peas 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Turmeric powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Red chili powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Garam masala powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Cottage cheese 300 Gram , cubed



1. In a skillet, heat the mustard oil and add in the cumin seeds. Let it pop.

2. Add in the onion and sauté for a few minutes until onions are translucent. Followed by tomatoes and peas. Cover the skillet with lid and let it cook for 2 minutes.

3. Season the tomatoes mixture with turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder and salt. Stir for a few seconds.

4. Add in the cottage cheese and cook for a few minutes, until flavors are deeply seeped into the cottage cheese.


5. If you like you can garnish the Matar Paneer with coriander leaves and green chilies and serve with chapatti or paratha.
