Bread Pakoda or batter-fried bread is the easiest dish you can serve for breakfast or snack, when you are not in a mood for any detail preparation. The crispy, crunchy feel of this savory dish will definitely brighten up your mood.


Bread slice 8
Vegetable oil 1 Cup (16 tbs) (For deep frying)
For the batter
Gram flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Ajwain seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Water 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Salt To Taste



1. In a large bowl, add all the ingredients of batter and whisk well to make a thick batter of gram flour.

2. Cut the bread slices in half, diagonally and keep aside.


2. In a deep frying pan, heat oil over high heat.

3. Dip each half bread slices in batter and put in hot oil. Reduce the heat to medium-high and fry the slices until golden brown on both sides.

4. Remove from oil and place on paper towel to soak the extra oil.


5. Serve hot with your choice of sauce or dip.
