Potato & Carrot Gravy

Potato carrot gravy is a perfect side dish for any kind of roti and chapathi! This is a quick and easy to prepare, yet tasty side dish!


Potato 3 Medium
Carrot 1 Medium
Onion 1 Large , diced
Turmeric powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Green chili 3 Medium , slit lengthwise
Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Salt To Taste
Mustard seeds 1/4 Teaspoon
Curry leaves 1 Tablespoon



1. In a large pan, add water and when it boils add potatoes and carrot.

2. Once the potatoes are cooked peel its skin off and mash well.


3. In a pan, heat oil. When hot, add mustard seeds and when it splutters add curry leaves.

4. Add diced onions and sauté them until they turn translucent.

5. Add mashed potatoes and carrots to the sautéed mixture and stir fry the contents.

6. Add water, salt, turmeric powder and green chillies to the contents and allow them to boil until the contents get well-cooked and the gravy thickens.


7. Serve hot with chapattis or rotis.
