Monsoon Delight - Kurkura Aloo Pakoda (Crispy Potato Fritters)

In a rainy day Aloo Pakodas (Potato Fritters) are a delight to relish. This Kurkura Aloo Pakoda is a stealer if teamed with ginger tea and Coriander - Yogurt Chutney.

Ingredients

Potatoes 1
Gram flour 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Water 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Red chili powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Garam masala 1/4 Teaspoon
Oil 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (For deep frying)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. In a medium bowl, mix together gram flour and water. Let it sit for 10 minutes.

2. Cut the potatoes into thin round slices. Set aside.

MAKING

3. Season the gram flour batter with turmeric, red chili, garam masala and salt. Mix well.

4. In a skillet, heat the oil on medium – high heat.

5. Dip the potato slices in gram flour batter and place in hot oil. Fry until golden brown and repeat the process with rest of the ingredients. Take out the fritters from the skillet and place over a kitchen towel to soak excess oil.

SERVING

6. Serve Aloo pakoda along with ginger tea.
