Monsoon Delight - Aloo Bonda (Potato Fritter)

Aloo Bonda is a delicious recipe of India, which is loved by all age groups, whether kids or elders. In every region they have their own version of this delicious snack, here I am presenting a North - Indian version of the recipe that is easy to make and within 30 minutes it's ready to be served.


Boiled potato 4 , mashed
Onion 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , finely chopped
Green chilies 2 , finely chopped
Coriander leaves 1 Tablespoon , finely chopped
Salt To Taste
For batter
Gram flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Water 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Red chili powder 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1 Teaspoon
Garam masala 1/2 Teaspoon
Oil 1 Cup (16 tbs) (For deep frying)



1. In a medium bowl, mix together gram flour and water. Let it sit for 10 minutes.


2. In a bowl, mix together mashed potatoes, onion, green chilies, coriander and salt. Set aside.

3. Season the gram flour batter with turmeric, red chili, garam masala and salt. Mix well.

4. In a skillet, heat the oil on medium – high heat.

5. Make small balls of potato mixture and press slightly. Dip that in gram flour batter and place in hot oil. Fry until golden brown and repeat the process with rest of the ingredients.


6. Serve Aloo Bonda along with your favorite condiment.
