Easy to Make Juicy Chicken Tikka

Traditionally, chicken pieces marinated in yogurt and a mix of spices, cooked in a clay-oven called 'Tandoor' is widely popular in many countries. This is an easy-to-cook-at-home version of the ever popular Chicken Tikka!

Ingredients

Chicken breasts 4 Medium , cut into bite sized pieces
For the chicken marinade
Sesame oil 2 Tablespoon
Red chili powder 1 Teaspoon
Coriander powder 1 Teaspoon
Cumin powder 1 Teaspoon
Garam masala 1 Teaspoon
Yogurt 6 Tablespoon
Ginger garlic paste 1 Tablespoon
Dry fenugreek leaves 1 Teaspoon (Kasuri Methi)
Lemon juice 2 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Black pepper powder 1 Teaspoon
Red food color 2 Drop
For brushing the marinated chicken pieces
Sesame oil/Vegetable oil 1 Tablespoon (Optional)
For greasing the baking pan
Oil 2 Teaspoon (As needed for greasing)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. In a large mixing bowl, put together the chicken pieces and all the ingredients for the marinade. Mix well, cover and refrigerate for about 4 hours.

2. Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator about 20 - 30 minutes prior to cooking.

MAKING

2. Preheat the oven to 450 F.

3. Line a baking pan with aluminium foil. Grease with a little oil and set aside.

4. Place the marinated chicken pieces on the greased foil lined baking pan. Brush some oil on the pieces, if desired and put it into the preheated oven to cook for about 10 minutes.

5. After 10 minutes, remove the pan, turn the chicken pieces over, brush again with oil, if desired and put it back into the oven for another 10 minutes.

6. For a 'cooked-over-hot-coals' effect, you may change the setting of your oven to broil and cook for another 5 minutes.

SERVING

7. Serve hot with onion rings, lemon wedges, Mint and Coriander Green Chutney or Tamarind Chutney or any other chutney of your choice.
