This is an absolutely mouth-watering early evening tea-time snack that both kids and grown-ups equally enjoy!

For the potato mix | ||
Vegetable oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
Onion | 1 Medium , finely chopped | |
Ginger garlic paste | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Cumin powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Green chili | 1 Medium , finely chopped (Optional) | |
Chaat masala | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
Coriander leaves | 1 Tablespoon , finely chopped | |
Salt | To Taste | |
Red chili powder | 3/4 Teaspoon (Adjust as per your preference for spice) | |
Potatoes | 3 Medium , boiled, peeled and mashed | |
Rest of the ingredients for the bread snack | ||
Bread slices | 10 Medium | |
Tomato ketchup | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (Or as needed to spread on all the slices) | |
Sesame seeds | 50 Gram (Or as needed) | |
For pan | frying | |
Butter | 2 Tablespoon |
GETTING READY
1. Heat up a pan with oil. When hot enough, add onion, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, green chilies (if using). Saute for a couple of minutes until onions are translucent.
2. Then, add chaat masala, coriander leaves, salt and red chili powder. Stir fry the spices for a minute.
3. Stir in the mashed potatoes and stir to mix all the spices well with the potatoes.
4. Let sit on low heat, uncovered for about 5 - 7 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the potatoes from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
MAKING
5. Take the bread slices, spread tomato ketchup on one side of all the slices.
6. Then, spread the prepared potato mixture evenly on top of the slices, followed by sprinkles of sesame seeds.
7. Heat a frying pan with butter. Place the bread slices on the melted butter in the pan. Fry slightly, flipping sides until slightly golden brown on both sides.
SERVING
8. Serve hot and enjoy!
TIPS
The potato mixture can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator up to 2 days.
