Hyderabadi Special Double Ka Meetha

A very famous dessert in the Hyderabadi cuisine. In most functions, parties or festivals, you will find double ka meetha being served. This dessert can go easily wrong, if the proportions are not right. It's important to balance the sweet content to get the right taste.


Bread loaf 1 Large
Sugar 3/4 Kilogram
Milk 1 Liter
Food color (saffron) 1 Pinch
Cardamom powder 1 Teaspoon
Almond 10 , chop
Cashew 10 , chop
Pista 10 , chop
Thickened milk 200 Gram (khoya)
Clarified butter 1 Tablespoon
Refined oil 1/2 Kilogram (For deep frying)



1.Heat oil in a thick bottomed pan and deep fry the bread slices until crisp and keep aside.

2.Heat the clarified butter and roast the almond, cashew, pista(dry fruits) and keep it aside.

3.Take a vessel and pour milk, sugar and layer it with the fried bread slices, thickened milk (khoya) and put it on the stove.

4.Cook it until the bread gets cooked in the milk and sugar mixture.

5.Top it with the roasted dry fruits and cardamom powder.


6.Tastes best when served warm.
