Homemade Tangy Mirchi Bajji

Chickpea flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Green chili 10 Large
Roasted peanuts 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Tamarind pulp 2 Tablespoon
Carom seeds 2 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1 Pinch
Chili powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Oil 1/4 Kilogram
Baking soda 1/4 Teaspoon
Water 3/4 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste



1.Filling: Grind roasted peanuts, carom seeds, tamarind pulp, turmeric powder and salt in a blender into a fine paste and set aside.

2.Batter : Mix chickpea flour, baking soda, salt, pinch of chili powder,water in a bowl and make a thick paste.

3.Wash green chili and set aside.

4.Cut the green chili vertically and stuff small quantities of the filling in it and set aside.


5.Heat oil in a pan.

6.Dip the stuffed chili in the batter and drop it in the hot oil.

7.Deep fry the mirchi bhajji’s until they turn golden brown


8.Serve them hot with ketchup/chutney and raw onions.
