Homemade Dahi Vada

The vada soaked and served in curd gives a nice variation to a plain vada. This can be served as a evening snack. It's not as complicated as one may assume.Try this at home and enjoy a yummy snack with a twist!

Ingredients

Black gram 1 Cup (16 tbs) , soaked (for 3 hours)
Refined oil 1/4 Kilogram
Green chiles 2
Ginger slices 1/2 Teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Coriander leaves 1 Teaspoon , chopped finely
Curry leaves 5
Yogurt 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Mustard seeds 1 Teaspoon
Red chili 3
Salt To Taste

Directions

GETTING READY:

1.Strain the back gram, make sure the water is kept aside.

2.Take a grinder and add chili ,ginger, salt, cumin seeds and the black gram.

3.Grind it to a fine paste, sprinkling the water that has been kept aside whenever required to get the desired soft texture.

4.Add the coriander leaves and curry leaves to the batter.

MAKING:

5.Heat oil in a pan (kadai).

6.Flatten the batter into a round shape on your palm, with a hole in the center.

7.Carefully drop the round shaped batter in the oil.

8.Deep fry until it turns golden brown on a low heat.

Seasoning:

9.Heat 1 tsp of oil

10.Add the mustard seeds and the red chilis.

11.Churn the yogurt and add seasoning and drop the vada’s in the mixture.(Make sure the vada is properly immersed)

SERVING:

12.Serve it as a evening snack.
