Namkeen Seviyan

My kid loves this snack when served along with evening tea. I always try to find out some interesting and healthy snack ideas from different sources. Here I am sharing one of them.


Seviyan 250 Gram
Olive oil 4 Tablespoon
Onion 1 Small
Potato 2 Small
Tomato 1 Small
Salt & pepper To Taste
Turmeric To Taste
Cumin seed 1 Tablespoon



1) Boil the seviyan in pressure cooker for 5 minutes on high flame. When done, let it cool and drain in a colander.

2) Chop the vegetables side by side.


3) Heat olive oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and let it splutter.

4) Add onion and saute till it turns light brown.

5) Add chopped tomato and potatoes. Cover with lid for sometime till potatoes become soft.

6) Add Salt, pepper and turmeric according to your taste. Stir for a while.

7) Add seviyan and stir fry with vegetables.


8) Serve garnished with chopped coriander.


You can also add vinegar and soy sauce in Namkeen Seviyan.
