This is a healthy fish recipe where the fish fillets are not deep fried. The coconut milk adds to the nutritive value of the dish along with enhancing its taste.


Fish fillets 1 Kilogram
Coconut milk 1/4 Kilogram
Jeera seeds 1 Pinch
Green chilies 4
Salt To Taste
Ginger and garlic paste 1 Tablespoon (Leveled)
Sugar To Taste
Garam masala powder 1 Teaspoon
Tomato 1 Medium
Oil 4 Tablespoon (Leveled)



1. Apply salt to the fish fillets and keep them aside.

2. Strain the coconut milk and keep aside.


3. Take a pan and heat oil in it.

4. Add the fish fillets to it and fry lightly on both sides.

5. Remove the fish from the pan and keep aside after draining the excess oil by putting them on tissue paper.

6. Add the jeera seeds to the oil.

7. Add the ginger-garlic paste and stir it continuously until the paste is well fried.

8. Add the tomato and mash it gently so that it blends well.

9. Add the salt and sugar to the pan.

10. Pour in the coconut milk and stir it continuously so that it gets mixed with the other ingredients in the pan.

11. Add the fried fish fillets once the coconut milk starts boiling.

12. Reduce the heat and cook on low flame for 7-8 minutes until the milk thickens.

13. Remove pan from flame and sprinkle the garam masala powder to it.


Serve hot with pulao or rice.
