Steamed Coconut Pudding

This easy to make pudding can be prepared either by a method of steaming or baking. Either ways its very easy to make and a treat to your taste buds!


Thick coconut milk 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Eggs 4 Medium
Powdered sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs) (3/4 cup to 1 cup used)
Vanilla essence 1 Teaspoon
Coconut essence 2 Drop (Optional)
Butter 1 Teaspoon (As required for greasing the pan)



1. Prepare the steamer by taking water in the base of the steamer; bring it to a boil on the stove.

2. Grease the pan (to be used for steaming) with some butter and keep aside.


3. In a small bowl, beat the eggs lightly.

4. To the beaten eggs, add the powdered sugar and beat again.

5. Add vanilla essence and coconut essence (if using). Mix well.

6. Add the thick coconut milk to this beaten egg mixture, continuously stirring gently.

7. Using a strainer, strain the prepared coconut milk and egg mixture.

8. Pour into the pan for steaming, cover the pan with butter paper or tin foil and place the pan into the steamer. Steam for about 30 to 40 minutes.

9. After 30 to 40 minutes, remove the pan from the steamer and keep it aside to cool. Once cooled, remove the covered paper or foil.

10. Take out the prepared pudding by inverting the pan onto a serving plate.


11. Cut the coconut pudding into desired shapes (square or rectangle) and serve chilled.
