Aam Panna - Family Favorite Absolute Desi Cooler

If you want to keep yourself hydrated in this summer, then Aam Panna is the drink for you. It is an Indian drink which is renowned for its heat resistant properties.


Green mango 2 Medium
Water 3 3/4 Cup (60 tbs)
Cumin seed 1 Teaspoon , roasted and grounded
Salt 1 Teaspoon
Sugar substitute 3 Tablespoon
Mint leaves 3 Tablespoon
Ice cubes 12 , crushed
Lemon 1 , quartered
For decorating glass
Salt 1 Tablespoon (Salt rub and salt is washed away)
Lemon wedge 1
For garnish
Lemon slice 4



1. For quoting the glass rim - Fill a saucer with salt.

2. Moisten the rim of the glass with a lime/lemon wedge. Invert the glass over the saucer and coat with salt. Place the glass in refrigerator to chill.


3. In a sauce-pan place the mangoes with water to cover and bring to boil. Low the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

4. Drain off the water and peel the mangoes. Scoop out the flesh with a spoon and place in a large bowl.

5. Pour in water, and season with sugar, salt and cumin. Whisk thoroughly all the ingredients. Set aside.

6. In a glass, add in the mint leaves and lemon wedges. Crush with a muddler and pour the mixture into the mango mixture. Whisk well and transfer the aam panna to a serving jug.


7. Take out the glass and add in the ice, pour in Aam Panna, garnish with lemon slice and serve.
