Kanji is a staple meal from Kerala and it is often consumed with payar, pickle, and pappadam. This dish is served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Ingredients

Brown rice 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Water 5 Cup (80 tbs)

Directions

GETTING STARTED

1. Wash rice thoroughly in running water.

MAKING

2. Add water and rice to the pressure cooker and cook it for some time. Cook for 5-6 whistles and switch off the heat.

SERVING

3. Serve hot kanji with payaru thoran, pickle and achar.
