Paneer Tikka

Replace yogurt with Cream to make Malai Paneer Tikka.

Ingredients

Thick yogurt 6 Tablespoon , divided (half for the marinade and half for the gravy)
Salt 2 Tablespoon (to taste)
Turmeric powder 2 Pinch , divided (half for the marinade and half for the gravy)
Paprika/Red chili powder 1 Tablespoon , divided (half for the marinade and half for the gravy)
Garlic paste 1 Teaspoon , divided (half for the marinade and half for the gravy)
Ginger paste 1 Teaspoon , divided (half for the marinade and half for the gravy)
Tomato paste 4 Tablespoon , divided (half for the marinade and half for the gravy)
Black pepper 1 Teaspoon , crushed (for the marinade) (Optional)
Carom seeds 1 Teaspoon , crushed (for the marinade) (Optional)
Cumin seeds 1 Teaspoon (for the gravy)
Oil 1 Tablespoon (for the gravy)
Brown sugar 1 Teaspoon (to taste)
Paneer cubes 25 Medium
Reddish orange color 1 Pinch (for the marinade and gravy) (Optional)
Onion and red bell pepper 1 Cup (16 tbs) , chopped finely (for the gravy)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Keep an outdoor grill with lid ready to rise to medium heat.

MAKING

2. In a bowl mix the marinade ingredients, mix the paneer into it and leave it for 1 hour.

To make the gravy:

3. In a heavy cooking pot heat 1 tablespoon oil and sauté adding onion and red bell pepper until done.

4. Then stir in all the gravy ingredients and let it cook for about 10 minutes until thick and done.

5. On skewers pierce the marinated paneer and place in the preheated grill and close the top lid.

6. Rotate the skewer from time to time to ensure the paneer is cooked well.

SERVING

7. On a plate place a serving dish, then add gravy and drop the paneer dices from a skewer.

8. Place a stuffed naan, onion rings and lemon slice beside the gravy bowl.

TIP

Alternate to grilling you can bake in the oven at 450 F for 10-15 minutes and then grill on a broiler.
