Whole wheat flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Rice flour 2 Tablespoon
Water 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Or As Required)
Oil 1 Tablespoon (Or As Required)



1) Combine and sift the flours.

2) Add enough water to make a stiff dough. Set aside for 1 hour.

3) Knead the dough with a little water until soft.

4) Divide into small balls and roll into very thin pancakes, 4 to 6 inches in diameter. (You may use also use a tortilla press.)


5) Heat a griddle and lightly oil it.

6) Cook chapati until half done on one side.

7) Turn and cook the other side until brown spots appear.

8) Throw over the hot coals with the first side down until chapati puffs up.


9) Serve with cooked mixed vegetables or any gravy of your choice.
