Potato Vada

Potatoes 225 Gram
Onion 30 Gram
Bengal gram flour 115 Gram
Garam masala powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Soda bicarbonate 1 Pinch
Salt To Taste
Green chillies 2
Coriander leaves 1/3 Ounce (1/8 bunch)
Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm) , flaked
Turmeric 1/8 Teaspoon
Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (to fry)


1. Boil and peel potatoes, chop.

2. Chop onion, ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves and garlic finely.

3. Heat one tbsp. fat. Fry chopped ingredients.

4. Add potatoes, turmeric and salt. Mix well.

5. Remove from fire. Divide into equal sized balls.

6. Dip each ball in prepared batter and deep fry in fat till light brown.

7. Serve hot with chutney if desired.


Sift flour, soda bicarbonate and salt. Add enough water to make a thick batter.
