Delicious South Indian Lunch or Dinner Recipe from Karnataka.

Ingredients

Sona masoori rice 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , washed
Pigeon peas 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Onion 1 Cup (16 tbs) , roughly chopped
Tomato 1 Large , roughly chopped
Dried green peas 4 Ounce
Water 5 Cup (80 tbs)
Green beans 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , washed and chopped
Potato 1 Cup (16 tbs) , washed and chopped
Carrot 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , washed and chopped
Radish 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , washed and chopped
Tamarind extract To Taste (extracted from lemon size tamarind)
Salt To Taste
Turmeric powder 1/2 Teaspoon
For masala paste:
Chana dal 1 Teaspoon
Dal 1 Teaspoon (Urid)
Buds 1 Small (Kapok)
Cloves 2
Cinnamon 1 Inch
Black peppercorns 6
Dried red chilli 10 (Non Spicy)
Dry chillies 5 (Spicy)
Cumin seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Coriander seeds 1 Teaspoon
Dry coconut 3 Tablespoon , shredded
Fenugreek seeds 10
Poppy seeds 1 Teaspoon
Seasoning:
Oil 2 Tablespoon
Mustard seeds 1 1/2 Teaspoon
Asafoetida 1/8 Teaspoon
Dry red chilli 2
Curry leaves sprig 2
