For sugar syrup: | ||
Sugar | 1/2 Kilogram | |
Water | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Cardamom powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Saffron strands | 4 | |
Yellow food color | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
For jalebi: | ||
All purpose flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Gram flour | 3 Tablespoon | |
Curd | 3 Tablespoon | |
Ghee | 2 Tablespoon (hot) | |
Water | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Yellow food colour | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Oil | 1 Liter (For deep frying) |
FOR THE SUGAR SYRUP:
MAKING:
1. To make sugar syrup in a flat sauce pan add sugar & water.
2. Then add saffron strands, cardamom powder & yellow food color.
3. Let everything come to a boil.
4. Once the sugar melts and the liquid reaches one thread consistency switch off the flame. Sugar Syrup is ready.
FOR JALEBI:
GETTING READY:
1. In another flat sauce pan heat some ghee for frying the Jalebi.
2. To make the Jalebis, in a large bowl add all purpose flour, gram flour, curd, hot ghee & water. Make a smooth pouring consistency batter.
3. Add yellow food color and mix well.
4. Keep this batter aside for a day to ferment.
MAKING:
5. Pour the batter in a sauce bottle and start making the Jalebi.
6. Fry the Jalebis on both sides.
7. Directly put the Jalebis in sugar syrup.
SERVING:
8. Jalebis are ready to serve!
