A recipe for Paneer Tikka Sub Sandwich


For the paneer tikka filling
Paneer cubes 2 Cup (32 tbs) (cottage cheese)
Thick curd 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (dahi)
Besan 1 Tablespoon (Bengal gram flour)
Chilli powder 1 Teaspoon
Ginger garlic paste
Dried fenugreek leaves 2 Teaspoon (kasuri methi)
Garam masala 1 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Oil 1 Tablespoon
Other ingredients
French bread 3 (150 mm. (6”) each)
Cheese slices 3 (torn into halves)
Shredded lettuce 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Tomato slices 9
Cucumber slices 9
Onion slices 9
Capsicum rings 6
Sliced black olives 3 Tablespoon
Jalapeno 24 , slice
Mayonnaise 6 Tablespoon
Chilli sauce 6 Teaspoon
Mustard sauce 3 Teaspoon



For the paneer tikka filling

1. Combine the curds, besan, chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste, dried fenugreek leaves, garam masala and salt in a deep bowl and mix well.

2. Add the paneer and mix gently. Keep aside to marinate for 15 minutes.

3. Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan, add the marinated paneer, mix gently and cook on a slow flame for 5 minutes, while stirring continuously. Keep aside to cool completely.

4. Divide the filling into 3 equal portions and keep aside.


5. Place the French breads on a clean, dry surface and cut each bread horizontally into two.

6. Place two cheese halves on each of the upper half of the breads.

7. Place the bread halves on a baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 5 minutes. Keep aside.

8. Place the lower half of a bread on a clean, dry surface and spread ¼ cup lettuce evenly over it.

9. Place 3 tomato slices, 3 cucumber slices, 3 onion slices and 2 capsicum rings evenly over it.

10. Spread a portion of the paneer tikka filling evenly over it.

11. Spread 1 tbsp black olives and 8 jalapenos evenly over it.

12. Spread 2 tbsp mayonnaise, 2 tsp chilli sauce and 1 tsp mustard sauce evenly over it.

13. Sandwich it with the upper half of the French bread with the cheese side facing downwards and press it lightly.

14. Repeat steps 4 to 9 to make 2 more sub sandwiches.


15. Serve immediately.
