A traditional favourite in Goa, India Xacuti is well loved and for good reason. Meat, Chicken, Fish or even veggies are simmered is a blend of aromatic whole roasted spices like red chillies, cumin, fennel, coriander, cloves, poppy seeds, cinnamon, cardamom star anise and blended with turmeric, roasted onion, garlic and coconut. Garlic | 8 Clove (40 gm) | |
Coconut | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (fresh/ frozen) | |
Red onions | 1 , coarsely chopped | |
Coconut oil | 3 Tablespoon | |

MAKING:
In a large pan, roast chillies, cumin seeds, peppercorn, fennel, cloves, poppy seeds, coriander seeds, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise and allow to cool.
In same pan, roast chopped onions, garlic and transfer to a bowl to cool.
In a food processor, combine the cooled spice mixture and turmeric. Grind to a fine powder.
In a pan, fry coconut and melt coconut oil.
Add onion and garlic mixture, coconut mixture and blend well to get a smooth paste.
SERVING:
Add to Goan curry, serve and enjoy!
