Palak Paneer Recipe - Dhaba Style - Indian Main Course

Palak Paneer Sabzi or in other words, Indian Cottage Cheese in Spinach Gravy.. Most popularly served in Dhabas and made in home.. This Dhaba Style Recipe is easy to make with no fuss.. Requires no blanching, and gets ready very fast with taste like dhabas, in-fact better. Palak Paneer is either loved by people or not liked, I was one who did not like earlier but had in a Dhaba kinda Restaurant and instantly loved it! Here I bring the recipe for the same.. Enjoy :)


Paneer 225 Gram
Spinach 3 Bunch (300 gm)
Cream 2 Tablespoon
Onion 1 Tablespoon , roughly chopped
Tomato 1 Tablespoon , roughly chopped
Coriander 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Ginger 1/2 Inch , grated
Nutmeg 1 Pinch
Garlic 6 Clove (30 gm)
Green chili 1 , chopped
Bay leaf 2
Cumin seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Yogurt 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Oil 1 Tablespoon
Cumin powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Coriander powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Red chili powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Turmeric 1/4 Teaspoon (or less)
Sugar 1/4 Teaspoon (or less)
Salt To Taste



1. Heat oil in a pan. 

2. Add cumin, bay leaf, ginger. Saute it well. Drop in garlic and green chilies, followed by onions. Cook until onions are done. 

3. Season with salt. Add tomatoes, cook until well cooked.

4. Turn off the flame, pour whisked yogurt. Spice up with turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder and grated nutmeg.

5. Turn the flame on, add some sugar, mix and throw in spinach. Cook until spinach is wilted.

6. Garnish with some coriander. 

7. Transfer everything to a blender and puree it well.

8. Put the puree to the pan, bring it to simmer. Add some cream. Stir to mix.

9. Drop in the paneer cubes at last and mix.



10. Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish and serve.
