Mild Chicken Curry with Yogurt

Flavourful Chicken cooked in a mild gravy made with spices, tomatoes and yogurt.

Ingredients

Whole chicken 1 , cut into pieces
Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
Ginger garlic paste 2 Teaspoon
Turmeric 1 Teaspoon
Chili powder 1 Teaspoon
Garam masala 1 Teaspoon
Salt & pepper To Taste
Yogurt 2 Teaspoon
Oil 1 Tablespoon
Red kashmiri chilies 2
Red onion 1 , sliced
Black mustard seeds 1 Teaspoon
Ginger and garlic paste 2 Teaspoon
Turmeric 1/2 Teaspoon
Garam masala 1/2 Teaspoon
Tomato 1 Large , finely chopped

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Marinade chicken in lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, chili powder, garam masala salt, pepper and yogurt for minimum an hour.

 

MAKING

2. Heat oil in a pan, saute kashmiri chilies, red onions and black mustard seeds. Cook until onions are nice and brown. Remove from the pan and set it aside.

3. Saute chicken in oil for 3 to 4 minutes or until chicken is nice and brown.

4. Add ginger and garlic paste and mix that in. Drop in some turmeric and garam masala, give it a good mix.

5. Throw in some chopped tomatoes and then add the fried onions. Cover and cook for about 30 minutes or until chicken is nice and tender. Stir at regular intervals and keep adding water as desired.

6. When the chicken is tender, add yogurt 2 tablespoon at a time and fold that with the chicken.

 

SERVING

7. Serve creamy chicken with rice or roti. Enjoy.
