You are sure to have tasted popcorn with savory tinges of salt, chili powder and even pepper or chaat masala, but here is something that is totally innovative and sure to please your taste buds! Spiced Sesame Popcorn features a tempering of sesame and cumin seeds along with an exciting garnish of grated cheese, thereby entering the good books of both kids and adults!

Corn kernals/Maize kernals 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (dry)
Oil 2 Tablespoon
Sesame seeds 1 Tablespoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Chili powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Grated processed cheese 2 Tablespoon

1. In pressure cooker, heat 1 tablespoon of oil, add corn kernel and sauté over medium flame for a few seconds.

2. Cover the cooker with lid and cook over low flame for 3-4 minutes or until the popping sound stops. Do not use gasket and whistle while covering. Switch off the flame and open the lid. Set aside.

3. In a non-stick pan, heat remaining 1 tablespoons of oil, add sesame seeds, cumin seeds, chili powder, salt and sauté over medium flame for a few seconds.

4. Turn off the flame and add the popcorns. Mix well.

5. Sprinkle cheese and serve immediately.

If you put the gasket and whistle on the lid of the pressure cooker then pressure will be created inside because steam will not be able to escape and the corns will become soggy.
