Mango is ruling the month! I simply love mango. I prepare variety of dessert using mango but this time, I thought of preparing spicy curry using mix of raw and semi-ripe mango. Daal tastes so yummy with Roti!

Ghee/Oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
Onion | 1 , chopped | |
Ginger | 1 Teaspoon | |
Garlic | 1 Teaspoon | |
Green chili | 1 Teaspoon | |
Coriander cumin powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
Semi ripe mango | 1 | |
Raw mango | 1 | |
Garam masala | To Taste | |
Red chili powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
For tadka | ||
Oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
Dried red chili | 2 | |
Mustard seeds | 1 Teaspoon | |
Cumin | 1 Teaspoon | |
Asafoetida | 1 Pinch | |

MAKING
1. In a pressure cooker, heat ghee, add turmeric and onion, stir to mix. Add ginger paste, garlic paste, green chili paste and red chili powder, mix again.
2. Add coriander cumin powder, salt, mango and lentils along with water, stir to mix.
3. Add semi ripe mango and cook for 3 to 4 whistles.
4. In a tadka pan, heat oil along with red chili, add mustard, allow to splutter.
5. Add cumin, remove from fire, add asafoetida and curry leaves.
6. To the cooked dal, add warer, if requires and stir to mix.
7. Add garam masala and mix. Pour in the prepared tadka.
SERVING
8. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with roti or rice.
