In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Chocolate Decorator's Icing. This is icing that can be used for decorating iced or un-iced cakes, cookies, cupcakes, doughnuts, etc., and will help you add accents (and flavor) to your basic icing.
Unsweetened chocolate | 1 Ounce
Butter | 1 Teaspoon | |
Confectioners sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (icing sugar)
Hot water | 1 Tablespoon (or more as required) |
MAKING
1. In a double boiler melt butter and chocolate. Stir well and remove from heat. Add confectioner’s sugar and hot water stir well till combined.
2. Transfer into a bowl and continue to stir till the sugar is dissolved and incorporated. If it is too dry then add more hot water in drops till it is mixed. Using electric beater beat till it turns smooth and thick.
3. Scoop it into a piping bag or a zip lock bag with its tip cut.
SERVING
4. Use this icing to decorate cakes or any desert either with names or patterns.
