In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Orange Strawberry Ice. This is an end-of-summer treat that is gorgeous as well as delicious.
Orange juice | 1 3/4 Cup (28 tbs) | |
Strawberries | 3 Pint , washed, hulled | |
Lemon juice | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Orange extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
Sugar | 2 Cup (32 tbs) (or Stevia to save calories) |
MAKING
1. In a large blender, drop orange juice, lemon juice, strawberries, orange extract, and sugar. Blend ingredients until smooth.
2. In a 9-inch by 9-inch baking pan, transfer the mixture. Cover the pan with aluminum foil or plastic wrap.
3. Pop it in freezer, and freeze for about 4 hours or until partially frozen.
4. In a large chilled bowl, transfer the frozen mixture. With a mixture at medium speed beat until smooth, but still filled with ice crystals.
5. Cover the bowl with foil or plastic wrap and place it back into the freezer for 4-6 hours or until firm, but not completely hardened.
6. Take orange strawberry ice from freezer and allow it to stand at room temperature for about 10 minutes, or until easy to scoop.
SERVING
7. Scoop and serve orange strawberry ice in individual serving dishes.
TIPS
If you do not have a large blender, you can do it in batches, and then combine them together.
Use milkshake setting option if you have, in your blender.
If you do not find orange extract but would like to have a strong orange flavor then reduce the amount of orange juice to 1 ½ cups and add ¼ cup of orange flavored liqueur.
