Banana Split

Ingredients

Cream 1/4 Pint
Plain chocolate bar 2 Ounce
Shelled almonds 4
Bananas 4
Ice cream 1/2 Liter (1 Block / 1 Tub)
Ice cream wafers 4

Directions

MAKING

1 In a bowl, whip cream, if used.

2 In a basin, break up the chocolate, standing over a pan of boiling water.

3 When the chocolate has melted, add 2 tablespoons water and stir them until well mixed,

4 Allow to cool.

5 Put almonds into hot water and bring to boil.

6 Drain well.

7 ,Pour on cold water and the nuts will peel easily.

8 When all -skins have been removed, put nuts under hot grill to brown them.

9 Chop roughly on a board.

10 Peel the bananas and split them in half.

11 On each of the individual dishes, arrange two halves

12 Put a good spoonful of the ice cream on to each glass dish.

13 Have all other ingredients to hand.

14 Pour a generous spoonful of the chocolate sauce over each pile of ice cream.

15 Sprinkle the top of each split with chopped nuts.

16 Add some whipped cream and wafers.

SERVING

17 Serve at once.
