Betty's Ice Cream Balls with Hot Fudge Sauce

Betty demonstrates how to make Ice Cream Balls with Hot Fudge Sauce. This is a delicious, cooling treat for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Salted roasted peanuts 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , fairly finely chopped ((as needed))
Vanilla ice cream scoop 8 ((as needed))
For hot fudge sauce
Unsweetened chocolate 3 Ounce
Butter 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Heavy whipping cream 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
White granulated sugar 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
Salt 1 Dash
For garnish
Maraschino cherries 6 ((as needed))
Mint sprig 6 ((as needed))

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Scoop ice cream and form into balls (as many as you desire). Roll balls in chopped peanuts and freeze.

 

MAKING

For Hot Fudge Sauce:

2. In a heavy saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low flame.

3. Remove the pan from flame and stir in cream. Add sugar and salt. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for about 7 minutes or until sauce is of desired thickness.

4. Into a bowl, transfer the sauce and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.

 

SERVING

5. In a dessert dish, place two ice cream balls, spoon fudge on top, garnish with cherry and mint. Serve and enjoy
