In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Baked Country Ham. This is a delicious entrée that is very popular in Central Kentucky.
Ham | 5 Pound , sliced (uncooked country ham (I used Clifty Farm sliced country ham)) |
GETTING READY
1. Remove sliced, uncooked country ham from package and place in a large roasting pan.
2. Pour water in the pan to cover the ham. Cover the pan with foil and pop it in refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain water.
MAKING
3. Remove ham from roasting pan and place it on a large piece of heavy duty foil.
4. Place the foil, along with ham back into the roasting pan. Turn up sides and ends of foil to enclose ham.
5. Cover the pan with lid and pop it in the center rack of a 300 degree F oven. If required remove the upper rack of oven. Bake for approximately 2.5 hours, or until the internal temperature of the ham reaches 160 degrees F when measured with a meat thermometer.
6. Open the foil, pop it back in oven and cook on broil for about 5 to 10 minutes. Let ham rest about 10 minutes.
SERVING
7. Serve ham hot and enjoy!
