Betty's Au Jus Gravy for Prime Rib

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Au Jus Gravy to accompany the Prime rib in the previous video. This is a rich, silky flavorful gravy that is very low in fat.


Pan drippings 1 Cup (16 tbs) , fat drained (from prime rib)
Worcestershire sauce 1 Tablespoon
Red wine 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Beef broth 1 Cup (16 tbs)



1. Place the roasting pan with the pan dripping over low to medium flame.

2. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and wine. Scrape the fond from the bottom of the pan.

3. Pour beef broth and continue to simmer until gravy is reduced slightly, stirring occasionally.


4. Drizzle over Prime rib and serve hot.


Taste gravy before removing from heat. If you find it salty, mix 2 tablespoon corn starch with 2 cups water and add as needed to the gravy until you get desired consistency.
