Steak 'N' Gravy

Round steak 1 Pound , trimmed
Vegetable oil 1 Tablespoon
Water 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Tomato sauce 8 Ounce (1 Can)
Ground cumin 1 Teaspoon
Garlic powder 1 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Pepper 1/4 Teaspoon
All purpose flour
Cold water 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Hot cooked rice/Mashed potatoes 1 Cup (16 tbs)



1. With a sharp knife cut beef into bite-size pieces.


2. In the skillet heat oil and fry beef until brown.

3. Transfer to a slow cooker.

4. Pour enough water over the beef to cover it.

5. Add tomato sauce and seasonings. Stir well.

6. Cover and simmer for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours until meat is cooked.

7. In a small bowl mix flour and cold water. Stir to make a paste.

8. Combine it to the liquid in slow cooker.

9. Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes until gravy is thick.


10. Serve over rice or potatoes.
