How to make Spiced Garlic preserve

This perfect pantry staple is quick to prepare using only a few ingredients. Keep refrigerated and spice up a hummus, curry or roast. Presented by Karen Ahmed for Kravings Blog.


Garlic cloves 2 Pound
Red onion 1 , sliced
Kosher salt/Coarse salt To Taste
Chilli powder 1 Teaspoon
Crushed black pepper 1 Teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1 Teaspoon
Red chilli flakes 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric 1/2 Teaspoon
Fenugreek leaves 1/2 Teaspoon



Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.



In a large bowl, toss together all the ingredients and place in a roasting pan.

Roast in the oven for 1 – 2 hours. Remove the pan frequently and stir moving all the brown bits around and flipping the cloves as they turn a dark golden brown.



Use roasted garlic for marinade or serve as a condiment.
