Gingered Beef and Vegetables

Ingredients

Cornstarch 2 Tablespoon
Soy sauce 2 Tablespoon
Ground ginger 1/4 Teaspoon
Garlic powder 1/8 Teaspoon
Condensed beef consomme 10 1/2 Ounce (1 Can)
Onion 1 Small , thinly sliced
Stalk celery 1 , cut into 1/4 inch slices
Beef boneless steak 1 Pound , cut across the grain into thin strips
Frozen chinese pea pods 6 Ounce (1 Package)
Bean sprouts 8 Ounce
Mushrooms 1 Cup (16 tbs) , sliced
Hot cooked rice 1 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

MAKING

1. In small microwaveable bowl, blend together the cornstarch, soy sauce, ginger and garlic powder and consommé.

2. Microwave at HIGH for 4 minutes stirring after 2 minutes until the liquid has thickened.

3. Set bowl aside.

4. In large microwavable casserole combine onion and celery.

5. Cover with lid or plastic wrap.

6. Microwave at HIGH for 3 minutes until the vegetables are soft.

7. Stir in beef strips and prepared sauce.

8. Add frozen pea pods.

9. Return bowl to the microwave.

10. Reduce the power to 7 and cook for 8 minutes, stirring after 4 minutes to break separate pea pods.

11. Finally stir in bean sprouts and mushrooms.

12. Continue cooking for another 4 to 8 minutes, stirring once until beef is cooked.

SERVING

13. Serve with steaming rice.
