Taco Pizza!!! Cornbread crust with taco toppings.
For cornmeal pizza crust: | ||
Cornmeal | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
All purpose flour | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Melted butter | 4 Tablespoon , divided | |
For topping: | ||
Taco filling | 2 Cup (32 tbs) | |
Grated cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Garnishes | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (to taste, shreded lettuce, chopped green onions, diced tomato, sour cream, salsa) |
GETTING READY:
Preheat oven to 400°F.
MAKING:
Melt butter in cast iron skillet.
In a bowl, combine cornmeal, all purpose flour, baking powder, salt, milk and mix well.
Transfer the mixture into cast iron skillet and pop into oven.
Bake for 10-15 minutes.
Once done, spread taco filling on top and sprinkle cheese over it.
Pop into oven again and bake for another 5 minutes.
Allow to cool and garnish as desired.
Slice into wedges before serving.
