Betty's Fluffy White Filling and Frosting for Cakes

Betty demonstrates how to make Fluffy White Filling and Frosting for Cakes and Cupcakes. This filling and frosting may be used for filling between cake layers, filling for cupcakes, or just as a fluffy frosting for the outside of cakes and cupcakes.


Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Cornstarch 2 1/2 Tablespoon ((or substitute with 5 tablespoons of flour))
Shortening 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) ((or use butter if you prefer))
Butter 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , softened
Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Vanilla extract 2 Teaspoon



1. In a small saucepan, combine milk and cornstarch. Mix well. Place the pan on low heat, stir constantly and cook until thickened. Set aside for 30 minutes to cool.

2. In a large mixing bowl, add shortening, butter, sugar, and vanilla. Beat until fluffy.

3. Drop cooled milk and flour mixture into the bowl. Beat well.


4. Decorate cake with frosting and serve immediately.
