Simple and quick recipe for homemade Queso Bacon Fries - a great side dish or appetizer.
Russet potatoes | 5 , cut into 3/8 inches or 1/4 inches for a crispier fries | |
Hot water | 2 Cup (32 tbs) | |
Sugar | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Karo syrup | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
Oil | 2 Cup (32 tbs) ((For Deep Frying)) | |
Bacon strips | 6 | |
Minced parsley | 2 Tablespoon | |
Queso blanco cheese | 16 Ounce ((Velveeta)) |
GETTING READY
1. Soak fries in cold water for 10 minutes to remove starch.
MAKING
2. Drain and rise the potatoes well.
3. Pour hot water in a dish. Add sugar and karo syrup. Mix it well until sugar and karo dissolve completely.
4. Drop in the potatoes and let them soak in water for about 10 to 15 minutes.
5. Fry them for 2 minutes in hot oil at 375 F.
6. Drain the fries on paper towel. Place the fries in the freezer for at least 20 minutes.
7. Fry some bacon in a skillet. Crumble and set them aside.
8. Remove the fries from the freezer and deep fry again, until it turns golden brown.
9. Drain them on paper towels and season them with salt and pepper.
10. Heat Quaso Blanco Cheese in a pot. Mix in crumbled bacon.
SERVING
11. Put the fries in a serving basket. Pour queso blanco cheese sauce over it. Sprinkle minced parsley over the sauce and serve.
