Who doesnt love a good breakfast casserole?! I wish I was joking when I say after I made this, I ate half of the pan.half.It is SO unbelievably good you guys, I cant even express it in words. All I can say is make it and you will understand. This is a great recipe to make ahead of time and the pop it in the oven when youre ready to eat. Perfect for a savory brunch. Its light and fluffy but packed with flavor.

Mushrooms | 8 Ounce , cleaned and sliced | |
Yellow onion | 1/2 , diced small | |
Whole milk | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) | |
Eggs | 8 | |
Fresh thyme leaves | 1 Tablespoon | |
Dry mustard | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Ground nutmeg | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Salt and pepper | To Taste | |
Gruyere cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs) , freshly grated | |
For greasing | ||
Butter | 1 Tablespoon ((For greasing)) |
GETTING READY
1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a baking pan with butter and set aside.
MAKING
2.Into the prepared baking pan, lay down the baguette. Set aside.
3.In a pan, add in the butter, onions, mushrooms, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Sauté over medium high until brown.
4.In a large jar, whisk together the milk, eggs, thyme, mustard powder, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
5.Top the baguette with mushroom and pour in the milk mixture over the top.
6.Sprinkle gruyere over the bread and bake for 25 minutes.
7.Take out the casserole and cool for a few minutes before serving.
SERVING
8.Serve the casserole alongside a mimosa or Bloody Mary of course.
